As a Montreal native, he has received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering from Concordia University in 2005. George has 15+ years of experience in the telecommunications sector, starting as a Solutions Engineer, then as Implementation & Test Lead, and eventually driving network transformation & evolution programs for major wireless operators in North America. His current focus is now on leading strategic partnerships & research engagements in support of the Ciena CTO innovation and research initiatives.
Currently he is one of ENCQOR 5G program responsible within Ciena, managing the program delivery and ecosystem relationships. As an ENCQOR 5G program leader, his responsibilities include building & managing relationships with external research organizations, industry partners, academic institutions, and other essential research ecosystem contributors. George is also driving talent development & academic recruiting related to Ciena’s Research programs and initiatives.
